What is Lymphatic Therapy Massage?
Lymphatic therapy massage is a specialized, deeply relaxing full body therapy, which promotes healing and gentle detoxification. It is performed manually with a light, rhythmic stretching technique that stimulates optimal function of the lymphatic system; causing fluid to flow more readily and thus clear tissue of waste and extra fluid. It stimulates the immune system for improved health. The Master's Touch uses a special instrument along side the manual therapy, called the LymphStar, which utilizes Lymphatic Enhancement Technology (LET). The LymphStar technology causes the massage to become profoundly effective on the cellular level, results of which the massage alone could not produce.
What are the benefits of
Lymphatic Therapy Massage?
- Induces deep relaxation
- Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, aka the healing mode of the body
- Gets lymphatic fluid flowing well
- Kick starts the lymphatic and immune system
- Reduces swelling in lymph nodes due to infection and slow moving lymph fluid
- Stimulates the immune system response to ward off illness and disease
- Better sleep
- Gentle detoxification
- Digestive and colon health improvements
- Reduces joint pain/inflammation
- Supports improving symptoms of auto-immune diseases, and other chronic health issues
- Accelerates healing: post-surgery, post-injury and post-illness
- Pre-surgery prep for better surgery outcome and accelerated post healing
- Reduces water retention/edema, systemically and locally
- Diminishes pain
- Increases energy
- Feelings of well-being/overall wellness
- Reduces general inflammation, systemically and locally
- Esthetics; more vibrant and radiant skin due to healthier, fluid-balanced, less toxic tissue
- Breast health improvement and maintenanc
- Improved kidney function
When the lymphatic system functions optimally, our bodies feel healthy and we have a strong defense against illness. When the lymph flow is sluggish or blocked (ie: after surgery or injury or with inflamed tissue) we can feel fatigued, be more susceptible to illnesses, infections, and water retention.
What is the Lymphatic System?
The lymphatic system is a component of the immune system and works in tandem with the circulatory system. Part of its job is to regulate fluid balance in the body and filter pathogens from the blood. It is made up of one-way capillaries, vessels, ducts, lymph nodes (approx 400 - 700), primary and secondary lymphoid organs: thymus, spleen, tonsils, vermiform appendix and Peyer's patch. Its vessels, capillaries and nodes are located throughout the entire body. The lymph nodes are located in tissue just under the skin and deep within the abdomen, with just under half located in the abdomen.

The lymph vessels only allow fluid to flow in one direction, towards the heart. With no pump of its own, the lymphatic system uses muscle contractions to compress the fluid through its capillaries, vessels, ducts and nodes. Exercise is required to keep a healthy lymphatic flow, with lymphatic therapy massage being the next best thing. (Monthly lymphatic therapy massage is recommended to maintain a healthy lymphatic system, with more frequent sessions if health issues are present)

Basic functions of the lymphatic system:
-Removal of excess fluid from tissue for proper tissue fluid balance throughout the body
-Filter the lymph fluid within the nodes from cell waste products, cellular debris, viruses, bacteria, abnormal cells (ie; cancer) and proteins with the help of lymphocytes- cells that attack and destroy all foreign intruders
-Deliver "cleaned" fluid back to the heart for re-circulation into the blood
-Fight infection with T-Cells in the lymph nodes
-Distribution of fat in the digestive tract
-Provides other roles within the lymphoid organs, specific to their particular function
-Helps remove excess fluid and waste products from the kidneys, maintaining proper kidney function

FUN FACT: The body is comprised of up to 70% water (more water percent in children, then the percentage declines well into adulthood as a person ages) The same water is called different things in the body depending upon where it is located. Fluid in between the tissue cells is called "interstitial fluid". Fluid within the lymphatic system is called "lymphatic fluid". Water in the blood is called "plasma". It plays different roles in each part of the body.

What is the LymphStar w/LET?
Lymphatic Enhancement Technology (LET) devices are state of the art technology for improving microcirculation, general circulation and helping with fluid management at the tissue level. It enhances and augments the functions of the lymphatic system as the detoxification channel for the body. LET enables a release of toxins, excess ions, proteins, etc. within the interstitial space.
LET instruments are for application on broad range of tissue congestion-based problems. The LET technology can be used without hands-on manual therapies.

Lymphatic Massage therapists, as well as Occupational and Physical therapists, help sufferers of post cancer edema, post surgeries and injuries with the FDA approved LET LymphStar from Arcturus Star. It has been proven effective over three decades all over the world.

LET LymphStar offers several layers of electromagnetic energies that assist with:

*Enhancing manual lymphatic methods by 4 times the effectiveness
*Releasing interstitial toxins
*Accelerating local healing
*Boosting immune functions
*Helping diminish pain

The LET LymphStar device incorporates a Mild Electrostatic Energy Field (EEF) with low frequencies that are dynamically pulsed with a Proprietary Method. EEF is electro-static field that pulsates at microamperes (millionths of an ampere) at less than 1,000 Hz. The EF Field is generated through medical grade glass applicators with the enclosed noble gases (Argon, Xenon, Krypton) being excited by high voltage at the source and converted to DC (direct current).
*Creates physical vibrations with acoustic pressure waves at variable low frequencies.
*The oscillations are modulated by a proprietary design call Sweep Pulse/Dynamic Wave Pulse which creates vibratory energy at the molecular level. This enables a release of toxins, excess ions, proteins, etc. within the interstitial space.
*All Energies are Non-Thermal and safe for most persons (see contraindications)*
*The EEF works with the sympathetic contractile forces of the lymph circulation

Contraindications:
*Not for use on persons with implanted medical devices
*Do not use in the presence of unexplained calf pain or over inflamed areas (DVT or active blood clots with pain)
*Do not use directly over any undiagnosed skin infections to avoid the spread of bacteria
*See precautions for use during medical treatment for cancer (only with permission from attending MD)
*Not for use during pregnancy
*Not for use on children under the age of 12

What LET is NOT:
* LET is not ultrasound
* LET is not a Rife Machine or a PEMF Machine
* LET is not a standard electro-modality like neuro-muscular or electro-muscle stimulation
* LET is not "electro-lymphatic drainage or ELT"
